Digital Millennium Copyright Act Policy

According to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), a copyright owner or their representative can submit a takedown notice to the site’s DMCA Agent to address any copyright infringement concerns. To make a good faith infringement claim, specific information needs to be provided:

Notice of Infringement – Claim

A signature of the copyright owner or an authorized representative;
Identification of the copyrighted work being infringed;
Details of the infringing material and its location;
Contact information of the complaining party;
A statement confirming unauthorized use of the material;
An affirmation of the accuracy of the information provided.

USC Title 17 § 512(f) outlines penalties for submitting false infringement claims.

Note that the site might share the identity of complainants with alleged infringers as part of the process.

Counter Notification – Restoration of Material

If a takedown notice has been received, individuals can submit a counter notification to have the material reinstated. The counter notification should include:

Signature of the individual;
Description of the removed material and its original location;
Statement confirming belief of mistaken removal or misidentification;
Contact details and consent to jurisdiction.

Repeat Infringer Policy

The site has a strict policy against repeat copyright infringement. It maintains a record of DMCA notices and takes action against repeat offenders by terminating their accounts.
